Revenue grows thanks to .sk acquisition
Domain name company CentralNic (London AIM:CNIC) reported earnings for the first half of 2018, posting revenue of £11.2 million. That’s up from £10.6 million in the same period of 2017, although comparing across time periods is difficult with CentralNic because it grows by acquisition.
For example, the acquisition of Slovakia’s .sk country code domain added £1.6m to the top line. So organic revenue was actually down year-over-year. H2 numbers will be even more convoluted due to the acquisition of KeyDrive.
Retail revenue generated from its registrars including Instra and Internet.bs was down £1.2 million year-over-year. The company said this was expected as the “division continued to realign and optimise its online marketing strategy for improved return on investment, resulting in higher margins and profitability despite reduced revenue.”
